Avoid Those Winter Colds
Wash your hands!!
More cold germs get transmitted by hands than by almost any other way.
Think about it - you cough or sneeze into your hands, you blow your nose into a tissue (or worse, a handkerchief) but it overflows a little.
You shake hands with someone, or share a keyboard (computer keyboards have been shown to harbour more germs than a toilet seat) and you’re spreading millions of bacteria.
Or you touch the keyboard of someone else who has the cold. Next time you touch your hand to your nose or your mouth your transferring those millions of germs right where they can do most damage.
If you’re already stressed or your resistance is lowered for some reasons, then you’re especially vulnerable.
Smoking also lowers your defences, and the defences of those around you sharing your second-hand smoke.
Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze - and when someone close to you coughs or sneezes. Use disposable tissues (and dispose of them well).
And Wash Your Hands, well and often.
