SeniorCare First Aid™
When Senior Citizens are entrusted to our care, we owe it to them to maximise our skills in looking after them.
In Resthomes and Retirement Villages there’s a legal requirement for a certain proportion of the workforce to be certificated in First Aid and CPR.
To that end, some very professional companies offer excellent courses, and for OSH/NZQA certificated requirements we strongly recommend those registered training providers.
However the high cost of such courses, and the two full days required per person, creates a temptation for organisations to conform to the regulations at the minimum level.
And in a 24hr care environment, with shiftworkers and variable rosters, you can never be sure whether one of your certified First Aiders will be on duty at all times.
In order to bring a level of First Aid skill to the widest possible range of the workforce,
we developed A Practical Approach to SeniorCare First Aid as a complement to the legislated OSH-required courses (not as a replacement), taking into account;
- affordability
- the busy schedules of SeniorCare personnel
- the need for greater convenience and accessibility
- the retention of Professional standards, including CPR training by certified instructors on proper mannequins.
Have your staff invest just 2 hours of their time with us to learn CPR.
And they’ll also learn how to cope with Burns, Falls, Sudden Collapse, Choking, Bleeding, Poisoning …. and more.
A Practical Approach to SeniorCare First Aid is a short (2 hour) training course open to anyone caring for the elderly, to impart the basic skills and knowledge to cope with emergencies.
The investment is just $45 per head including GST
For just 8 people we will come to you, at a time that suits your scheduling and shifts.
To cater for larger numbers we are happy to provide multiple courses, in a single day or spread out over different days - to fit in with your needs.
